Accommodation

Te Mata Lodge is the perfect base for exploring all that the Coromandel Peninsula has to offer. The Lodge has a choice of four self-contained cottages and three cabins with separate facilities, providing quality, well-priced accommodation for both couples and large families.

SELF-CONTAINED OPTIONS INCLUDE:

Alternatively for those who don’t mind shared facilities we have three cabins available.

Whether it is the self-contained units or the cabins, rest assured that Te Mata Lodge is a great place to stay, with so much to do and explore around the property you may choose to stay in. Te Mata Lodge is more than just a place to stay. It is only a short walk down to the riverside where there are kayaks available and a large grass area with hammocks, swings, trampoline, petanque and a large playing area available.

TWO-STOREY CHALET - $175 PER COUPLE

For a more private feel with views the Chalets are our most recent addition for accommodation available at Te Mata Lodge. They are set back about 50m uphill from the river and offer a cosy option with a kitchenette and small lounge that opens out onto a deck that overlooks the scenic bush and river valley. The covered deck means that you can enjoy BBQ’s and outdoor dining all year round. A point to note for families is that the chalet is best suited for couples.

The one-bedroom cottage offers the true kiwi bach Coromandel accommodation experience. With all the comforts needed to enjoy your stay as well as one of the best views of the valley from a deck that soaks up the mid-day summer sun. The cottage is nestled up on the side of the Te Mata River valley. It is about a one hundred meter walk to the riverside where there are kayaks available and a large grass area with hammocks, swings, trampoline, and petanque available.

The two-bedroom cottage was the original family home for Te Mata Lodge when it was run as a youth camp. If you are looking for spacious accommodation then this is the best option for you. It offers a full kitchen, decent lounge/dining space a private queen room with the second room offering a double bed and two singles. The two-bedroom cottage is situated next to the one-bedroom and is about a one hundred meter stroll down to the riverside where there are kayaks available and a large grass area with hammocks, swings, trampoline, and petanque available.

The cabins are a great option for those seeking affordable Coromandel Accommodation but are not quite ready to jump into a tent. They offer a basic cabin with polished wooden floors, four bunk beds, and a double bed. The ablution and kitchen facilities are a short walk from the cabins and offer hot showers, toilets, and a covered cooking area with gas hobs and a fridge. From the cabins, it is a short stroll down to the riverside where there are kayaks available and a large grass area.
